Facial Cleansing 101

Posted by Meerika Khanna on

The most common beauty ritual followed by everyone is facial cleansing. Whether you have a two or three step cleansing routine, or carelessly wash your face in the shower, almost everyone has a facial cleansing routine.

The importance of this beauty ritual is clearly emphasized by the fact that at the beginning of every beauty or spa treatment comes a clean face. Thoroughly cleansing the face is the essential part of any skin care regiment. No matter how expensive or good your serums and creams are, they will only be effective if applied to a clean face. A clean base that is ready to absorb all the powerful ingredients in your skin care products is essential.

Everyone knows the importance of cleansing the face thoroughly. However, not many know how to clean it properly. To understand the secret behind an excellent facial cleansing routine, we need to know our skin type. Avoid oil-based cleansers if you have oily skin or combination skin. A foaming cleanser is best for oily skin, on the other hand, if you have dry skin, you need a moisturizing cleanser that won’t make your skin too dry. If your skin feels dry and stretchy after cleansing, it’s recommended that you use a gentle moisturizing cleanser.

Using cleansers with natural oils like tea tree oil or neem oil for oily skin and  argan oil based cleanser for dry skin will give the best results. Always know the ingredients in your cleansers and try to go for products that are clean from harmful ingredients.
