Masks are probably the most vital thing since the year 2020. They are also pretty hard on the skin of your face. They cause various kinds of problems such as acne, rashes, itchiness, and peeling skin. Skincare has become more and more vital since the global pandemic began.

Board-certified dermatologists have recommended a list of few tips to follow. These tips will help in stopping skin problems from developing due to the mask:

1. Moisturise and clean the face daily

Gentle skin can help a lot in preventing skin problems. Use a cleanser a mild cleanser while washing your face. Dry skin has come up to be a very common problem post covid. Moisture adds a protective layer that helps in reducing dryness. A moisturizer containing ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and dimethicone is recommended. Include using a moisturizer in your routine especially if you have sensitive or dry skin.

2. Try to skip wearing makeup

Your makeup is more likely to lead to breakouts by clogging the pores. Go for products that include "won't clog pores" or "non-comedogenic" on their label. Use these products if wearing makeup is necessary. Yet, avoiding this as much as possible has been recommended. Women from different types of skin have faced this problem as well.

3. Avoid trying too many products

Wearing a mask leads to making the skin more sensitive. Avoiding harsh products is very vital to avoid skin problems, especially when wearing a mask. Products such as exfoliant, retinoid, and chemical peel can cause different problems to the face skin. If you are using retinol, don't increase the amount and apply it at bedtime.

4. Wear the correct mask

Masks having at least two players of breathable fabric are very essential. It should be a comfortable fit and soft. You will want a snug fit that covers your nose, the sides, and goes under the chin. An unfit mask can lead to irritation problems on the skin. Avoid fabrics like polyester, rayon, and nylon. These are more likely to cause breakouts.

5. Wash the cloth mask

Many healthcare centers advise washing the cloth mask after every use. Oils and skin cells collected inside the mask are washed away. Otherwise, these could lead to several skin problems. Be sure to follow the washing instruction on each mask. Use hot water to wash your mask, unless the instructions state otherwise. Keep your mask in a clean place. The place you keep your mask in is very important. Otherwise, a dirty mask can damage the skin to a huge extent.

Following these tips in these times is as essential as wearing a mask. Avoid products made up of chemical and harsh substances. Products made up of natural herbs and ingredients are what you should go for. Not only will these products protect your skin from damage, but will also provide nourishment to it.
