Protect, manage and treat hair thinning.

1. Wash and condition regularly, but not frequently

One does not need to wash their hair every single day of every single week. As per experts, washing our hair twice a thrice a week is more than enough. Washing our hair too often strips them off the essential oils but washing them infrequently can end up leaving them dull and dry. Overusing dry shampoo is the worst thing you can do to damage your hair and hence, overusing it has to be avoided at all costs. Go for products containing natural nutrients over the products loaded with chemicals. These natural products will provide the needed nutrients to your hair as well as provide solutions to your hair problems.

2. Healthy diet

One of the most well-known yet, one of the most ignored essentials to have healthier and thicker hair. A healthy and well-balanced diet is one of the most important steps to take if you want to add volume to your hair. Most of the time hair fall and hair thinning are related to deficiency of essential nutrients. Have green vegetables and berries on regular basis, as they contain healthy nutrients and antioxidants. Eggs, Cinnamon, Yogurt, Spinach, Oysters, Nuts and Seeds, Sweet potato, Lentils, and Barley are some other examples of food that should form a part of your meals. Vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K are all highly crucial when it comes to maintaining hair and avoiding spots of hair loss on your scalp.

3. No to the hairstyle that put extra tension on the hair

Traction alopecia is that type of hair loss that is a result of chronic stress on the hair follicles. 95% of the time this happens because of hairstyles that are too tight. Hence, make sure not to wear hairstyles that pull on the scalp. Hairstyles such as braids, dreads, and high ponytails should not be worn too frequently. Go for alternative hairstyles that go easy on your scalp and hair.

4. Air-dry or style your hair gently

Apply a tiny bit of hair serum to your wet hair before you air-dry or style them. This will add shine to your hair and prevent your hair from frizziness. Alternatively, one can also use oils such as jojoba, coconut, and argon to get similar benefits as those of serum. However, these oils penetrate deeper into the scalp and hair as compared to any serum. These can be applied to wet and dry hair as well as they act as shine enhancers and anytime treatment.

5. Avoid all types of heat styling

This is by far one of the most essential tips for preventing hair thinning and baldness. No matter how many hair-care routines you follow, heat styling will end up ruining your hair to a great extent. Your treasured locks undergo a huge amount of damage when they are subjected to heat styling. Heat styling ends up making your hair brittle and weak. Consequently, this affects hair growth and prevents them from looking strong and healthy.

Follow the above-mentioned tips for preventing thinning of hair and baldness. Having a healthy body leads to healthy hair. Make sure to keep a check on the food you eat and the products you use. Try your best to have only healthy and nutritious food and use only natural hair products.
